The Problem of Attachment to Motion
The New Motion
We are entering an Age of magic, but we are not ready for it.
Oh, we are trying to get ready. That’s why, for instance, there are so many new fantasy novels and anime. The growing intensity of the energy of magic is stimulating our interest in the subject. As a result, we’ve become fascinated with the idea of magic.
However, what we imagine is the classic magic of old Atlan(tis). That magic reached its height 93,000 years ago (the last time the energy of Ceremonial Magic predominated in our Planetary Life). But Atlan Fell and was destroyed, recreated and destroyed, and recreated and destroyed again. By now, all that remains of Atlan magic are a few vague myths of the old gods, and garbled traditions of how it all worked.
Fantasy magic is based on and inspired by those garbled traditions. It has no relationship with The New Creative Process.
But this makes The New Process harder to perceive, not easier. We automatically assume that the energies of magic will move the way energies move now.
We are so accustomed to the classic motion of energy, force, and substance that we’ve become attached to it. We find it extremely difficult to conceive of any other motion. As a result, the idea of the new motion is very disorienting, and we reflexively reject it.
We are like pigeons in a zero-gravity environment, unable to orient ourselves. Our classic patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior are so ingrained that we cannot adjust.
We, ourself, were not immune to this. Our mind and brain were so crystallized around the classic motion of substance that we could not conceive of that new motion. Our intellect, emotions, and brain rejected the very idea as utter nonsense.
But our Soul knew, and our visionary instrument kept creating fragmentary images of that new creative motion.
So, in order to accept the idea of The New Creative Process, we developed a series of Urban Fantasy novels in which the fantasy magic was based on that New Process. By taking that New Motion out of the “real” world, we made it easier to accept and envision.
This began innocently enough. The main character of the series is a college student named Sparkle Cassidy. She grew up deep in the mountains. The only neighbors lived in adjoining valleys, including a family to the east and an old hermit to the west.
The neighbor family, it seemed, were strict Rawlesian survivalists, which rubbed off on her own family and affected her behavior.
However, when we asked about the old hermit, we discovered that he was a Mage.
Now, we perform much of our fiction writing using the same awareness tools we use for our nonfiction. Basically, we identify as Soul and become aware of the pertinent aspect of The One Life and receptive to whatever is overshadowing. So, naturally we asked, “What kind of mage?”
The wordless answer was, “He’s a Gate Mage.”
We had no idea what a Gate Mage was, so that answer (as many do) produced a lot more questions. The result was (so far as we know) an entirely new method of getting from one place to another without passing through the intervening space.
Now, our concrete rational mind was very uncomfortable with the idea of a real Gate of this kind, which was created by magic and used subtle energies to operate. It is one thing to contemplate the Ageless Wisdom Teachings as part of one’s chosen Path of Spiritual Growth, and quite another to consider using those Teachings to create something which the rational mind insists cannot possibly exist.
However, we had grown up reading Science Fiction and Fantasy in which such things were fairly common.
· A Science Fiction story that included such a Gate would have a brief science-inspired explanation (involving worm holes or some such) and description of the associated technology.
· A Fantasy story would provide a brief magic-inspired explanation (based on the chosen system) and descriptions of whatever rituals and tools were involved (such as a sigil, wand or staff, incantation, etc.).
In either case, the purpose of the explanation was to give the reader an excuse to suspend their disbelief.
The chosen technology or magic needed to be consistent with and within the story, but it was not expected to be “real.” [1]
Now, one cannot include a Gate Mage in a story without having the characters use a Gate at some point. And no good writer would do such a thing without first figuring out precisely how Gate Magic worked. So, we did.
Again, our concrete rational mind boggled at the idea of real, functioning “magic” of any kind, even when based on The Ageless Wisdom Teachings. Our intellect was simply to infested with scientific materialism to be comfortable with the idea.
This infestation also made it very difficult to tell people that we had been Called to help formulate a New Creative Process or Magic of Synthesis. However, we could tell them we were developing a new type of magic for a fantasy series. Placing that New Creative Process in a fantasy made it intellectually acceptable to us and to others.
Well, to some others.
Many students of The Ageless Wisdom Teachings were unable to accept The Magic of Synthesis even in a fantasy context. This included our best friend.
We had tried to discuss The New Creative Process with him, but he was simply too invested in the classic Ageless Wisdom Teachings. This was hardly surprising, as he had devoted his life to those Teachings.
So, for his last few years, we avoided talking about it.
This was true of most of our students and associates as well. They could not let go of the classic Wisdom Teachings, and/or they could not understand The New Synthetic Teachings.
A main impediment to understanding The New Creative Process is the basic motion involved.
The classic motion of substance is an Intelligent Activity. That Activity is sequential, rotary, differentiating, and cyclic. It produces time and space, and everything that exists in time and space. And in the classic Wisdom Teachings, that motion is considered an inherent characteristic of substance or The Third Aspect of Divinity. This is a fundamental principle of those Teachings. It explains why the world works the way it does, and anyone who suggests that substance could move any other way is obviously wrong.
The New Motion of substance is a Synthetic Ordered Activity. That motion is neither sequential nor differentiating. Rather than creating time and space, its magical activity creates union and at-one-ment.
It is a fundamental change in the motion of substance.
This motion is utterly different from anything we know. Where classic magic produced instant effects in space-time, The New Magic transforms space-time itself. It transforms the appearance of separation into the realization of union and at-one-ment.
This is too much for most of those born in the previous century to accept. So long as they are attached to the classic methods of thinking, feeling, and behaving, they will not be able to.
It is much easier for those born in this century, but even they will first have to study and practice The Magic of Synthesis.
This is how we will save the world.

[1] “Hard” Science Fiction was an exception, in which the science was expected to be as accurate as possible. If you had a rocket going to the moon, the fuel to weight ratio, etc., had to be correct. For instance, in Rocket Ship Galileo, Robert A. Heinlein did the math for all the ship’s movements. It was a hard science fiction novel written for juveniles (the first of his “boys” books).
